Introducing the April Lively Lady: Nancy Agro!
Meet Nancy!
Nancy moved to Durango in 1995 for her first private practice job as a lawyer. Nancy graduated from law school in 1993 and moved to Boulder at first to clerk for a judge. She had never even heard of Durango, but that’s where she found a job! She is still here after more than thirty years because Nancy’s husband is a native! Nancy and her husband, Geoff, will be married for 26 years this year, and they have two boys, Ethan, 22, who is graduating from UGA and moving to New York to pursue his career, and Andre, 17, a junior at DHS.
Nancy recently retired from a 30 year career as a lawyer practicing primarily in real estate and water law. For the first several months after retirement, she undertook the caretaking of a close friend and her son as a transition to her next phase which is still TBD. Nancy’s hobbies include many outdoors sports including biking, running, hiking, and skate skiing, as well as indoor sports including cooking, reading, and writing. She is hoping to do more of all of these things in retirement, while also finding meaningful ways to serve others. Nancy spent her career serving her clients, and she believes service to others will continue to lead her towards fulfillment and joy.
Nancy’s favorite lively brands include Sanctuary, Dear John, Z SUPPLY, and Los Poblanos because lavender is her favorite scent! Nancy loves shopping at lively because, “Because you have treats for Roo (just kidding). The atmosphere and culture of lively is warm and welcoming. Before lively opened, clothes shopping to me was a necessary chore because I hated sifting through racks. I literally would walk into a store and walk right back out if I didn’t spot something I wanted immediately. I don’t have to do that at lively because Johnna and Misty know my style and always point me in the right direction for just the right thing. Also, lively jewelry is the best! My 17 year old son has recently commented that I have nice fit (haha)”.
